Jason leant back and smiled sweetly at the boy sitting in front of him. In response Damian looked away with a disturbed look on his face, his fingers tapping the table top uncomfortably as they waited for Alfred to hand out breakfast.

Tim and Dick had yet to come down, Tim had stayed with the small child last night as Bruce thought it wouldn’t have been a good idea to put Dick in his old room. Jason had silently agreed as he was still freaked out by Dick’s weirdness.

His attention was brought back to Damian as the little snot dropped his spoon accidentally while playing with it. It was highly amusing to watch him retrieve the spoon while obviously agitated at Jason watching him.

“Will you stop staring at me!” Damian practically spat, and Jason was reminded that even though he was Bruce’s son those two couldn’t be anymore different. Damian lacked the control and patience that Bruce was infamous for.

“Why? What if I like staring at you?” He chuckled darkly as Damian stared at him in horror.

“Jason stop freaking him out.” Jason noted the amusement in Tim’s voice despite the warning as he sat at the table with Dick seated comfortably in his lap.

It looked like Alfred had gone out shopping at some point, though Jason didn’t know how he managed to find the time to do that, as the kid was wearing new fitted clothes. Jason also noticed that Dick was eyeing Damian wearingly; an unsure expression on his face and his intense blue eyes scanned the boy that had told him his parents were dead.

“How you feeling kid?”

Those blue eyes turned towards Jason. “I don’t know.” He shrugged his small shoulders and then a small smile came on his face. “Hungry.”

Tim smiled and Jason smirked as Alfred brought in their breakfast. The smell wafted into the room and not even Damian could keep the look of longing off of his face. Blue berry muffins, pancakes and a bowl of fruit were placed on the table, along with a range of sauces which included syrup and chocolate sauce.

“If this is what you get every morning I just might decide to stay.” Jason leant forward and helped himself, enjoying the luxury that was Alfred’s cooking.

Tim helped Dick put a healthy amount of chocolate on his pancakes while Damian tried to wait politely for the sauce with a look of annoyance on his face. When Tim had finished Jason deliberately grabbed the bottle before Damian could and began to put it on his own pancakes, painstakingly slowly.

Tim rolled his eyes and muttered something that sounded like immature under his breath before digging into his own breakfast.

It was at this time that Bruce entered the room, nodded a thank you to Alfred after receiving the paper and noted Damian staring angrily at Jason, who still hadn’t finished with the chocolate sauce.

“Bruce do you want any?” Jason shook the bottle in question as he watched the billionaire reach for the pancakes. Though his question was answered when Bruce grabbed the maple syrup. Damian looked hopeful for a second but his face fell when the over grown teenager placed the bottle out of his reach.

The boy looked torn for a moment, deciding if his pride was worth the loss of the chocolate sauce. “Jason.” His call was acknowledged with a tilt of his head. “Could you please pass the sauce?” Each word was strained as if saying them was burning his tongue.

Jason smiled wickedly. “Jeez Damey, all you had to do was ask.” And he tossed the sauce over as Tim tried to hide his laughter and Bruce shifted his grip on the newspaper.

Dick was oblivious to all as he finished his pancakes at a speed that would make the Flash jealous before grabbing a muffin and some fruit, remembering all the lessons he had been taught about eating a healthy diet. Though he wasn’t sure if they were from his Mum or Alfred.

Jason watched Dick consume way too much for a child of his size with a raised eyebrow and looked towards Bruce who was beginning to read the information on the stock market.

“Have you found a way to reverse the magic?”

Bruce looked up at Jason’s question, noticing that Tim and Damian turned towards Bruce in interest.

“Blood has had a look at the device the man used. He said that despite what the man claimed the magic is temporary.” He glanced at Dick. “He’ll be back at his normal age within a week.”

Tim couldn’t help but feel relieved as Dick squirmed uncomfortably on his lap, the small acrobat already feeling the need to move.

Jason smiled and thought of all of the things that could be done during this week that he could tease Dick about in the future and he promised himself he would get a camera. He looked at Damian who seemed unmoved by the news and he thought of inviting the archer around, making him bring his little girl and the Black Canary’s kid.

If anything could make the brat lose his attitude it would be three hyper little children.

Jason congratulated himself on his brilliant plan and noticed Tim looking at him with concern, Tim had seen the look on his big brother’s face and he was worried, very worried and he tightened his grip on Dick and hoped that nothing bad was going to come from this.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

TBC.

And find out next time why everything can and will go wrong.
